Eula Valdes and Nonie Buencamino are best performers of the year for Dagitab, a film about a middle-age couple, both university professors in a waning, lackluster marriage. Despite the comfortable trappings of middle-class life and their intellectual pursuits, both seem agitated and listless; questing for elusive dreams and goals. Valdes and Buencamino brilliantly explored their characters’ individuality, crafting tension through the most nuanced tones inflecting gaze, word and gesture. Image may be NSFW.
